Thanks to Alison Damianou, director-coordinator, of The Meet Market, 3///3 had the wonderful and unique opportunity to go out in the streets for the first time and attend The Meet Market event which took place on September 2010 @ Six D.O.G.S in Athens.

"The Meet Market is a non-profit cultural collective of creatives.  We are a broadening, mobile community of designers, craftsmen, artists, collectors and independent businesses.  Once a month, we put together a 2 day weekend event in various venues, exhibiting and selling what we make along with a full line-up of music from local djs and music producers.  We began in December 2007 and have been growing ever since, with over 150 vendors and more than 3,000 visitors each month."

The possibility is thus created to convert - even temporarily - degraded / disadvantaged / underprivileged areas of the urban center into expanded open gathering spaces, of communication, of exchange of ideas and of participatory artistic actions / interventions / happenings, and having a purely democratic basis / character, exploring in parallel, the communicative function of the artistic interventions in the public urban environment.

Thanks to the openhanded invitation by curator Lina Stergiou, from May 9 -11, 3///3... three walls on wednesdays... collaborated with AAO project during Athens Art Week, in their happenings suitably named, Athens Here and Now.

3///3's participating artists for Athens Here and Now were: Ira Vlachaki, Melina Moisidelis and Sotiris Papanikolaou.

3///3 would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Venus de la Cruz, Ostria's manager, for inviting us to install the work of artist Charles Beronio for 5 hours in the entrance of the café on May 25, 2011.  Ostria Café is in the center of Athens, specifically in Exarchia square.  It is the main square of one of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens.  Exarchia is a hangout for young people and artists.  There are many cafés, bars, theaters and cinemas.  The unique charm attracts the attention of locals and many people who visit Athens.
